HAPPY EASTER

my good friend, pingkan, text me earlier today. it goes like this:

The Bible says: There’s nothing impossible with God, but
there’s one thing He can’t do: “He can’t stop loving you.” Have a
blessed day n Happy Easter. GBU.

maggie,
my lovely flatmate, had written on the easter card she left in front of
my door this morning, ‘it’s a different sort of easter’ for us here
without our family and all but nevertheless, we will always be reminded
of God’s love that will never change. well,
thank you for the wonderful reminder, ping!

now, as the cyber world becomes more and more inevitable for most of us, here’s a little taste of

Easter on the Net.
this site sees easter more as a festivity – it has the story about
easter eggs and bunnies and some mouth-watering easter recipes, too.
so, i think it’s still worth checking out even if you don’t celebrate
easter.

happy easter, everybody!

a cup of tea, some chocolate chip cookies, and robert bloch’s ‘psycho’

here i am again in the beginning of a mayhem how i can feel it in every sip in every bite
and on every page the air is getting tighter gripping me with memories
of the storm that swept me away some time ago and i can still remember
how i fell oh do i have to prepare myself for the same commotion again

my cup’s empty

my cookies are gone

but the book

is still

here

“Mary started to scream, and then the curtains parted further and a
hand appeared, holding a butcher’s knife. It was the knife that, a
moment later, cut off her scream.

And her head.”

-“Psycho”, Robert bloch

PSYCHO

right.. so i’ve just finished reading robert bloch’s notorious novel,
psycho. the very book which alfred hitchcock’s movie, bearing the same
title, was based on. phew, i have to say it blew my mind away. no
wonder it has become a classic thriller! and it is such a little book.
short but it definitely tells you a lot. and a lot will stay in your
head, leaving you with that unsettled feeling…

okay,
so.. all i have to do now is to pinpoint a specific aspect of the story
and write an essay on it. well, for me this is the most unsettling
effect of reading the book!

*laughs*

jeez.. i’ve got such
a dry sense of humour, haven’t i? maybe i learned it from the very
best. i’ve done a little research on robert bloch and found the most
interesting quotes from the writer. they are as follows:

“Despite my ghoulish reputation, I really have the heart of a small boy. I keep it in a jar on my desk.”

and

“May he rest in pieces”

such a funny guy!

:D
